Together All Alone

Yesterday I was stuck on a highway
between a semi truck and an SUV.
There was a colorful variety of compact and mid sized sports cars,
some eco friendly, some battery powered.
More or less expensive, more or less used,
and me in my minivan with the side dent and muddy fenders.
We were all together stuck
because of a blockage a few miles north where the weather was heavy,
the way whited out and slippery,
each encased in our own can.
It didn't matter then who had paid what for what,
or how fast we could go from 0 to 60.
We were all together, stuck, but each alone, stuck,
on a road we hoped would lead us all home,
eventually.
